Bylaws of G.R.A.C.E. Homeschool Fellowship Inc.

 

Article I – Name and Purpose

  1. Name: The name of this organization shall be GRACE Homeschool Fellowship Inc. (hereinafter “the Group”).
  2. Mission: GRACE’s mission is to support, encourage, and provide fellowship for Christian homeschooling families as they raise, educate, and encourage their children to follow Jesus.
  3. Purpose: The Group exists to:
    • Provide fellowship and social opportunities for Christian homeschooling families.
    • Encourage community support, friendship, and shared activities consistent with Christian values.
    • Offer non-instructional social events, such as field trips, park days, holiday gatherings, and family-oriented activities.
  4. Non-Educational Nature: The Group will not provide structured academic classes or function as a school or educational institution.

Article II – Statement of Faith

  1. The Group affirms the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith, including:
    • There is only one God, the creator of the heavens and Earth.
    • The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice.
    • Jesus is the son of God.
    • Jesus paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross and was resurrected on the third day.
    • Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.
    • God created mankind with two genders, male and female.
    • God designed marriage to be between one male and one female.

Article III – Membership

  1. Eligibility: Membership is open to homeschooling families who:
    • Affirm the Statement of Faith.
    • Agree to abide by these Bylaws.
    • Agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.
    • Agree to follow the Well Child Policy.
    • Agree to follow the Membership Guidelines.
    • Sign the Liability Waiver.
    • Pay the dues.
  2. Membership Privileges: Members may:
    • Participate in all social activities and events.
  3. Membership Responsibilities: Members are expected to:
    • Support the mission and Christian values of the Group.
    • Treat others with kindness and respect.
    • Assist with events when possible.
    • Serve on at least 2 service teams or take on 2 or more roles.
  4. Termination of Membership: Membership may be revoked by a majority vote of the Board for conduct inconsistent with these Bylaws or the Statement of Faith.

Article IV – Board of Directors

  1. Composition: The Board shall consist of three (3) active Directors.
  2. Election and Term:
    • Directors are elected by a majority vote of the Board.
    • Each Director serves a term of two (2) years and may be re-elected.
  3. Duties: The Board shall:
    • Provide organizational leadership for the Group.
    • Plan, oversee, and approve social activities and events.
    • Manage membership, finances, and communication.
  4. Vacancies: Any vacancy shall be filled by majority vote of the remaining Directors.
  5. Advisory Council: Age group leaders will serve as an advisory council to the board as needed.
  6. Removal: A Director may be removed by unanimous vote of the remaining Directors for failure to fulfill responsibilities or for conduct inconsistent with the mission of the Group.

Article V – Officers

  1. The Board shall designate officers from among the Directors:
    • President: Leads meetings, represents the Group, and ensures bylaws are followed.
    • Secretary: Maintains membership records, meeting minutes, and communications.
    • Treasurer: Oversees finances, keeps accurate records, and reports to the Board.
  2. Officers serve for a term of one (1) year and may be reappointed.

Article VI – Meetings

  1. Board Meetings:
    • Held at least quarterly.
    • Require a majority of Directors to constitute a quorum.
    • Can be held virtually.
  2. Membership Meetings:
    • Held bi-annually for fellowship, updates, and feedback from members.
  3. Decision-Making: Unless otherwise specified, decisions require a simple majority of the Board.

Article VII – Finances

  1. The Group is a nonprofit, Christian-based social organization.
  2. Annual dues will be used solely to support social activities and operational expenses.
  3. Additional fees for some events may be required.
  4. The Treasurer shall maintain accurate financial records and provide reports at Board meetings.
  5. A member may request an appointment to view the financial records.

Article VIII – Amendments

  1. These Bylaws may be amended by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors.
  2. Members shall be notified of any changes.

Article IX – Dissolution

  1. Upon dissolution, any remaining funds or assets shall be distributed to a Christian nonprofit organization supporting homeschooling families, as determined by the Board.
