Growing Relationships with Activities for Christian Enrichment
So what does GRACE do?
GRACE has park days, usually weekly.
We have field trips, usually one or more a month.
GRACE has holiday parties such as a Christmas party, Valentines party, and an Easter egg hunt.
We have enrichment activities like group outings to see puppet shows, plays, and musicals.
GRACE has special events like a back to school splash, moonlight candy hunt, chili cook-off, mother-daughter tea, daddy daughter dance, family bingo night, field day, end of the year party, and graduation. We also have ideas for some new special events.
We have special activities like Nerf wars, water wars, Christmas caroling, snow games, board game days, mother & son, father & son, meet ups for bowling, and other fun activities.
Where does GRACE meet and when?
GRACE’s activities are based in and around Forsyth County, Georgia, but we have members from all over the surrounding area.
Field trips and some of the other activities are at the venue’s location, so may be further away.
We meet at local parks, libraries, churches, and sometimes people’s homes.
We meet on various days and at various times. We intentionally try to keep our days and times mixed up so that there are opportunities for everyone to participate.
I have ideas for things I would like to see a homeschool group do. Will GRACE do them?
We love to hear your ideas! We love help planning things! (Members have to help with at least 2 things a year, but don’t have to plan them.) Members can plan field trips and other activities that are in alignment with GRACE’s mission.
What is GRACE’s age-group structure?
GRACE has a mixture of ‘all age’ and ‘age group’ activities. Many activities can be ‘all age’ and then the individual ‘age groups’ hang out together. Some activities will be for specific age groups. The more members and active participants GRACE has, the more age specific activities we can offer. Many times an older sibling can attend a younger sibling’s activity, but sometimes a younger sibling won’t be able to attend an event for an older sibling, and you will have to do something with the younger sibling nearby. (Like at a class at a nature center, the material may be to advanced for a younger sibling and the younger sibling may need to explore another part of the nature center with the parent. Or, at a teen specific activity)
Our age groups are:
K and Under: Kindergarten age and below
Young Elementary: First through Third (ages 6-9)
Tweens: Fourth through Sixth (ages 9-12)
Young Teens: Seventh through Ninth (ages 13-15)
Older Teens: Ninth-Graduation (ages 15-18)
Post Grad: High school graduates (ages 18 & up…young adults) Graduates that were homeschooled or have siblings that are currently homeschooled.
Note: You will notice that there is some overlap in the age groups. You know your children best, so we want to give you some ‘wiggle room’ in what groups they are in. However, that only applies to the group directly above or below their age. Please use your best judgement.
